Facebook is a world wide networking site devoted to people who want to share stories, upload pictures and find friends so that they can communicate. But there is a growing problem among business owners, schools and even some countries; they do not want Facebook allowed into their networks. This proves problematic to some Facebook users who want to access the website at anytime of the day and from anywhere. The answer for them is to use a Facebook proxy server.
A Facebook proxy server works by allowing users to essentially bypass the firewall that has been put into place by the business, school or country. A proxy is a server that is located on the outside of a firewall on another website. It appears to be just an innocuous website but in reality it is a portal that relays the user to Facebook thus bypassing any restrictions that have been put into place.
This is a great networking solution for you to use but it does require that you have network knowledge in order to make this work. Yes, it does allow you to unblock Facebook but some websites do charge a certain fee for their proxy services, yet you can still find free versions that have a limited trial period. However, you may be asking yourself why you would need to unblock Facebook or even why some businesses would block Facebook at all?
The answer to that question lies in productivity. Many businesses and schools believe that you have no business being on a website that does nothing for you besides kill time. Most businesses and schools cite that Facebook has nothing to do with business or school needs. But perhaps the most puzzling issue is why some countries, such as Syria and Iran, would block Facebook completely from their citizens' use.
Users of Facebook UK and Facebook US have the luxury of being able to make any posts or comments that they wish. They can organize events as they see fit. In Syria, Facebook has been alleged to promote attacks and criticisms on the government. The penalty for criticizing the government of Syria is imprisonment. In Iran, authorities believe that opposition forces use social networking sites, such as Facebook and MySpace, to organize attacks and various demonstrations against the government. You have to remember that these countries do not have the right to freedom of speech that the United States is founded upon.
If you live in a country that blocks Facebook, then you may want to ask yourself if it is worth imprisonment or a fine just for accessing the website through a Facebook proxy. The same thing goes for workplaces that block MySpace and Facebook. Is it worth losing your job just to send messages to friends? The best alternative may be to simply wait until you get home to log on to Facebook.

Should I Use A Facebook Proxy To Use Facebook?
Where now for the car industry
Is a bleak time for anyone working in the car industry at the moment, with the government determined to stop people using cars by introducing new taxes seemingly every week it is hitting car manufacturers hard. Economic experts say they think that over 35,000 jobs in the car industry could go over the next few years if things dont change. The industry has asked the government to help them financially in a similar form to the way they help the banks to the tune of around £500 billion pounds, in America the government there has already helped the industry by pledging over 15 billion dollars to car firms in particular GM and Chrysler. Countries all over Europe and the rest of the world have reported a huge slump in sales this year, with the UK reporting that this November car sales in November fell by over 35 percent compared to November 2007. “The last recession, between 1989 and 1992, had a five-year impact on the car industry,” says Professor Garel Rhys of Cardiff Business School. This year, around 2.2 million will have been sold in Britain, but Prof Rhys believes that will be 1.75 million next year, and as low as 1.6 million in 2010. “I’m not being alarmist about this,” he says. “I’m merely tracking the last recession – and this one’s worse.” Part of the problem is the speed of the fall. Decisions about production at car factories are made years, if not decades, in advance. With new cars still in the pipeline, and raw materials, parts and even entire new plants ordered and yet to be paid for, businesses cannot cut costs fast enough to match their falling revenue. Several UK car manufacturers have put their workforces on shorter hours or are planning production stoppages to reduce the market oversupply as the new cars they are producing just are not being sold. Another problem with the industry the some experts say they are relying to much on the car contract hire industry and these company's could be responsible for up to 20% of all new cars bought.

Sarah Palin and the spending scandal
So the American elections finally is over, Barak Obama won in case anyone has been on another planet for the last few months! And while all the press has now dies down until he gets sworn in on January 20th 2009. As for the losers John "you can count on me" McCain and Sarah Palin things seem to be going from bad to worse. It turns out then not only did they lose what some are calling the greatest waste of money in American history but also they wasted a hell of a lot of money in the process. The Federal Election Commission has been reporting some very interesting financial figures for the 2008 American elections which the American public are sure not to like. It turns out that the lovely Sarah Palin spent a lot of money making herself look presentable, More than $95,000 was spent on her hair and makeup through out the election, looking at John McCain im guessing around $27 was spent on his! Surely it would have been cheaper to just use clarins makeup or go to Macy's and buy herself a few hundred dollars worth of clarins products, it also turns out that Republican National Committee spent over $150,000 to clothe Sarah Palin and another £18,000 in the final weeks of the election campaign in several department stores, money was also wasted at toys R us, Kate Spade and Brooks Brothers. Over the course of the election McCain and the Republican party had just over $81 million to spend from the federal funds compared to his rival Democratic nominee Obama who had nearly £350 million to spend. Americans who are being hit hard by the world wide economical financial crisis are sure not to be happy about the spending that the 2 parties went through, surely this money could have been put to much better usage.

Legalized Family Fraud in Missouri
Again, Missouri Judges have declared that a man who is not a childs father must pay child support anyway. The childs mother in this example has stated repeatedly that the man is not the father. Yet a state agency says he is. An appeals court sustained the states desire to lock this man in jail. this man and others are caught in a national issue that pits fairness against the power of the state to avoid the expense of finding the real fathers of children.
On any given day millions of people watch sensation television where a dysfunctional woman and the pawns of their dysfunction are used to increase ratings. When it comes down to it, these children are the ones who will suffer in the long run. Nothing beneficial can come out of the display of a mother testing 5 or more men to determine who fathered her baby, this is something that will forever follow the child.
Many men nationwide are trapped into paying child support because they either are declared such administratively, or do not contest paternity. Unlike the Missouri Legislature a growing number of states have changed laws so they now allow innocent men to use DNA evidence to clear their names. Various bills in the Missouri Senate and House would have allow that here, but these bills never got out of committee.
In most states, a reputed father has a short time to contest and can actually be declared the parent without his knowledge. A period of one year is the standard in Missouri, Kansas, and many other states. Child support must be paid until children either turn 18, or graduate college. Judges typically follow a process designed to provide money from any man irregardless of who the real father is. This is tantamount to state sponsored paternity fraud.
If there is a requirement of paternity testing before any requirement of child support a great deal of expense, pain, and family disruption can be avoided. And this also gives some women the opportunity to take more responsibility for their actions. No longer will lies hurt so many lives for so long.
And the long run is very long indeed. In one of these cases a Missouri Court found "...is now held to be the father of (the child) for all purposes and all time," , "despite both mother and father's statements to the contrary and without any determination of that relationship by a court of law."
It is unfair that a man has to pay for a child that is not his, regardless of true paternity a target is still required by law to support the children even if he did not father them. It is obvious that in Missouri paternity fraud is rampant.
So often we hear about dead beat dads and womens rights. But what about men who are both responsible and want to do the right thing? Where are the rights for these men? Along with mandatory paternity testing their should be a mandatory law stating that the woman should pay back the child support received over how ever long period the time due to the fact that the child/children are not his.
Washing machine that doesnt use water
The average UK household uses roughly 40 pints of water a day using washing machines, this figure has risen sharply over the last few years, since 1990 washing machine usage has gone up by a massive 23% due to the fact that the average household now washes their clothes on average 4 times a week compared to 15 years ago when it was just 3. Across the UK this makes around 800 million pints which is enough to fill up 145 olympic size swimming pools.
In the past many people used commercial laundry equipment in laundrettes to wash their clothes but as washing machines have got significantly cheaper this area has now declined.
The British government has said that it wants to decrease water usage by 2010 but as more and more people look to save time and money this target does
seem like it will be met.
But now there is a new invention coming to the market which could change all this. Dubbed Xeros it is already being compared to the Dyson bagless hover which changed the whole cleaning industry in the mid 90's.
The machine uses only 2% of the water conventional large washing machines use which makes it the first virtually waterless washing machine.
The Researchers at Leeds University where this product is being tested claim the technology could be ready as early as 2009.
The way it works is by taking thousands of small chips which are made of plastic, they absorb the dirt then help remove it. Roughly 20 kilos are loaded to each wash with a cup of water, the water is then heated to dissolve the dirt then the chips are used to absorb the dirt.
The company behind the product hope this will change the way we wash our clothes and could not only save money but also the environment, it is also hope this technology could be used in commercial dishwashers as well as many other water using household items
Male prisoners should be allowed make up!
The Constitutional Court has rules this week that male prisoners in Germany should have the same rights as female prisoners and be able to spend their jail income on cosmetics such as make up and clarins products. A male prisoner who is currently serving a 15 year sentence and who also surprisingly has decided to keep his identity hidden from his fellow inmates appealed against prison policy claiming that this was gender discrimination. Kai Zimmermann who is the lawyer for the prisoner told the BBC that his client had fought the ruling as he wanted to be able to buy and use products such as moisturiser but prison policy was not allowing him to. Until the ruling only women were able to spend up to £25($50) a month of their jail income on such products.
The court ruling will be seen as many as another example of prisoners rights gone to far.
The judge commented, "Members of one sex cannot be denied their cosmetics choices simply because they are more typically found among the opposite sex." He then went on to say, “Although the interest in cosmetics may be more widespread or frequently stronger among women than among men, it is not a biologically determined interest among women.” The prisoner claimed that if he wanted to use products such as clarins makeup then that is his right to, the case will now go to a lower court where the Prison will have the chance to argue and overturn the ruling based and security concerns, this may also lead to copycat cases across Europe and in America. Also in the trial the judge rules the male prisoners should have the same rights as females inmates when it comes to the use of phones as the men's wing did not have a private room for which to use the phone.

animal pests controlling
Some animals can pose problems in the environment and therefore need to be controlled. Any animal has the potential to become a pest when introduced to a new environment. In New Zealand, there are plenty of examples of animals that have become pests and the focus of large control programmes. Possums, rabbits and mustelids are major pests of the environment that affect native flora and fauna as well as farmland productivity.
Problems with animals are numerous. Rabbits affect pasture quality and livestock due to their extensive feeding and burrowing habits. Possums consume thousands of tonnes of vegetation a night in New Zealand as well as being a vector of Bovine tuberculosis. Mustelids attack bird species, particularly ground dwelling birds, which in many cases are highly endangered.
Trapping can be used for animal control. This method is also used when it is not appropriate to use chemicals. Depending on the animal will depend on the type of trap used. Trapping is also a method of monitoring the pest population in an area and gives the residual trap catch rate.
There are many chemical methods used to control animals. Depending on the pest that you want to control will depend on the chemical used. Chemicals can affect animals in different ways therefore if you are controlling a number of pests there may be a variety of bait stations and baits laid which need to be monitored and replenished at different times and rates.
Shooting is another commonly used method of controlling animal pests. For possums and rabbits it is however labour intensive and not used as frequently as trapping and baiting. In the South Island of New Zealand the rabbit problem is so bad that there are annual rabbit shoots that can net tens of thousands of rabbits.
Possums were introduced for the fur trade in New Zealand but what a disaster. Endangered in Australia the reverse is true in New Zealand. The New Zealand climate is ideal and they can breed up to twice a year. There are no natural predators in New Zealand for these animals. In New Zealand the plants have never had to develop defence mechanisms, so all are palatable to the hungry possum. This means that native trees like the rata and pohutukawa are threatened by the possums eating behaviours. They can also vector a disease of cattle – bovine tuberculosis which is a significant disease for farmers to be faced with.
Rabbits, like possums were introduced to NZ in the 1800’s as part of a fur trade. They were even introduced multiple times before they flourished. Once they were flourishing it was soon apparent that people needed to think about how to control them as they quickly became a problem. Extensive feeding and burrowing in pasture destroys the grass and creates hazards for livestock in those paddocks.
Three types of mustelids were introduced to New Zealand as a way of controlling rabbits. They have become as much of a problem as the animal they were introduced to control. Ferrets, weasels and stoats feed on the eggs and chicks of birds. In New Zealand, many birds like the kiwi are ground dwelling which makes them easy targets for these predators.
