Should I Use A Facebook Proxy To Use Facebook?

network knowledge

Facebook is a world wide networking site devoted to people who want to share stories, upload pictures and find friends so that they can communicate. But there is a growing problem among business owners, schools and even some countries; they do not want Facebook allowed into their networks. This proves problematic to some Facebook users who want to access the website at anytime of the day and from anywhere. The answer for them is to use a Facebook proxy server.

A Facebook proxy server works by allowing users to essentially bypass the firewall that has been put into place by the business, school or country. A proxy is a server that is located on the outside of a firewall on another website. It appears to be just an innocuous website but in reality it is a portal that relays the user to Facebook thus bypassing any restrictions that have been put into place.

This is a great networking solution for you to use but it does require that you have network knowledge in order to make this work. Yes, it does allow you to unblock Facebook but some websites do charge a certain fee for their proxy services, yet you can still find free versions that have a limited trial period. However, you may be asking yourself why you would need to unblock Facebook or even why some businesses would block Facebook at all?

The answer to that question lies in productivity. Many businesses and schools believe that you have no business being on a website that does nothing for you besides kill time. Most businesses and schools cite that Facebook has nothing to do with business or school needs. But perhaps the most puzzling issue is why some countries, such as Syria and Iran, would block Facebook completely from their citizens' use.

Users of Facebook UK and Facebook US have the luxury of being able to make any posts or comments that they wish. They can organize events as they see fit. In Syria, Facebook has been alleged to promote attacks and criticisms on the government. The penalty for criticizing the government of Syria is imprisonment. In Iran, authorities believe that opposition forces use social networking sites, such as Facebook and MySpace, to organize attacks and various demonstrations against the government. You have to remember that these countries do not have the right to freedom of speech that the United States is founded upon.

If you live in a country that blocks Facebook, then you may want to ask yourself if it is worth imprisonment or a fine just for accessing the website through a Facebook proxy. The same thing goes for workplaces that block MySpace and Facebook. Is it worth losing your job just to send messages to friends? The best alternative may be to simply wait until you get home to log on to Facebook.

Where now for the car industry

Is a bleak time for anyone working in the car industry at the moment, with the government determined to stop people using cars by introducing new taxes seemingly every week it is hitting car manufacturers hard. Economic experts say they think that over 35,000 jobs in the car industry could go over the next few years if things dont change. The industry has asked the government to help them financially in a similar form to the way they help the banks to the tune of around £500 billion pounds, in America the government there has already helped the industry by pledging over 15 billion dollars to car firms in particular GM and Chrysler. Countries all over Europe and the rest of the world have reported a huge slump in sales this year, with the UK reporting that this November car sales in November fell by over 35 percent compared to November 2007. “The last recession, between 1989 and 1992, had a five-year impact on the car industry,” says Professor Garel Rhys of Cardiff Business School. This year, around 2.2 million will have been sold in Britain, but Prof Rhys believes that will be 1.75 million next year, and as low as 1.6 million in 2010. “I’m not being alarmist about this,” he says. “I’m merely tracking the last recession – and this one’s worse.” Part of the problem is the speed of the fall. Decisions about production at car factories are made years, if not decades, in advance. With new cars still in the pipeline, and raw materials, parts and even entire new plants ordered and yet to be paid for, businesses cannot cut costs fast enough to match their falling revenue. Several UK car manufacturers have put their workforces on shorter hours or are planning production stoppages to reduce the market oversupply as the new cars they are producing just are not being sold. Another problem with the industry the some experts say they are relying to much on the car contract hire industry and these company's could be responsible for up to 20% of all new cars bought.

Sarah Palin and the spending scandal

So the American elections finally is over, Barak Obama won in case anyone has been on another planet for the last few months! And while all the press has now dies down until he gets sworn in on January 20th 2009. As for the losers John "you can count on me" McCain and Sarah Palin things seem to be going from bad to worse. It turns out then not only did they lose what some are calling the greatest waste of money in American history but also they wasted a hell of a lot of money in the process. The Federal Election Commission has been reporting some very interesting financial figures for the 2008 American elections which the American public are sure not to like. It turns out that the lovely Sarah Palin spent a lot of money making herself look presentable, More than $95,000 was spent on her hair and makeup through out the election, looking at John McCain im guessing around $27 was spent on his! Surely it would have been cheaper to just use clarins makeup or go to Macy's and buy herself a few hundred dollars worth of clarins products, it also turns out that Republican National Committee spent over $150,000 to clothe Sarah Palin and another £18,000 in the final weeks of the election campaign in several department stores, money was also wasted at toys R us, Kate Spade and Brooks Brothers. Over the course of the election McCain and the Republican party had just over $81 million to spend from the federal funds compared to his rival Democratic nominee Obama who had nearly £350 million to spend. Americans who are being hit hard by the world wide economical financial crisis are sure not to be happy about the spending that the 2 parties went through, surely this money could have been put to much better usage.

Legalized Family Fraud in Missouri

Again, Missouri Judges have declared that a man who is not a childs father must pay child support anyway. The childs mother in this example has stated repeatedly that the man is not the father. Yet a state agency says he is. An appeals court sustained the states desire to lock this man in jail. this man and others are caught in a national issue that pits fairness against the power of the state to avoid the expense of finding the real fathers of children.

On any given day millions of people watch sensation television where a dysfunctional woman and the pawns of their dysfunction are used to increase ratings. When it comes down to it, these children are the ones who will suffer in the long run. Nothing beneficial can come out of the display of a mother testing 5 or more men to determine who fathered her baby, this is something that will forever follow the child.

Many men nationwide are trapped into paying child support because they either are declared such administratively, or do not contest paternity. Unlike the Missouri Legislature a growing number of states have changed laws so they now allow innocent men to use DNA evidence to clear their names. Various bills in the Missouri Senate and House would have allow that here, but these bills never got out of committee.

In most states, a reputed father has a short time to contest and can actually be declared the parent without his knowledge. A period of one year is the standard in Missouri, Kansas, and many other states. Child support must be paid until children either turn 18, or graduate college. Judges typically follow a process designed to provide money from any man irregardless of who the real father is.  This is tantamount to state sponsored paternity fraud.

If there is a requirement of paternity testing before any requirement of child support a great deal of expense, pain, and family disruption can be avoided. And this also gives some women the opportunity to take more responsibility for their actions. No longer will lies hurt so many lives for so long.

And the long run is very long indeed.  In one of these cases a Missouri Court found "...is now held to be the father of (the child) for all purposes and all time," , "despite both mother and father's statements to the contrary and without any determination of that relationship by a court of law."

It is unfair that a man has to pay for a child that is not his, regardless of true paternity a target is still required by law to support the children even if he did not father them.  It is obvious that in Missouri paternity fraud is rampant.

So often we hear about dead beat dads and womens rights. But what about men who are both responsible and want to do the right thing? Where are the rights for these men? Along with mandatory paternity testing their should be a mandatory law stating that the woman should pay back the child support received over how ever long period the time due to the fact that the child/children are not his.

Washing machine that doesnt use water

The average UK household uses roughly 40 pints of water a day using washing machines, this figure has risen sharply over the last few years, since 1990 washing machine usage has gone up by a massive 23% due to the fact that the average household now washes their clothes on average 4 times a week compared to  15 years ago when it was just 3. Across the UK this makes around 800 million pints which is enough to fill up 145 olympic size swimming pools.
In the past many people used commercial laundry equipment in laundrettes to wash their clothes but as washing machines have got significantly cheaper this area has now declined.

The British government has said that it wants to decrease water usage by 2010 but as more and more people look to save time and money this target does
seem like it will be met.
But now there is a new invention coming to the market which could change all this. Dubbed Xeros it is already being compared to the Dyson bagless hover which changed the whole cleaning industry in the mid 90's.
The machine uses only 2% of the water conventional large washing machines use which makes it the first virtually waterless washing machine.
The Researchers at Leeds University where this product is being tested claim the technology  could be ready as early as 2009.
The way it works is by taking thousands of small chips which are made of plastic, they absorb the dirt then help remove it. Roughly 20 kilos are loaded to each wash with a cup of water, the water is then heated to dissolve the dirt then the chips are used to absorb the dirt.
The company behind the product hope this will change the way we wash our clothes and could not only save money but also the environment, it is also hope this technology could be used in commercial dishwashers as well as many other water using household items

Male prisoners should be allowed make up!

The Constitutional Court has rules this week that male prisoners in Germany should have the same rights as female prisoners and be able to spend their jail income on cosmetics such as make up and clarins products. A male prisoner who is currently serving a 15 year sentence and who also surprisingly has decided to keep his identity hidden from his fellow inmates appealed against prison policy claiming that this was gender discrimination. Kai Zimmermann who is the lawyer for the prisoner told the BBC that his client had fought the ruling as he wanted to be able to buy and use products such as moisturiser but prison policy was not allowing him to. Until the ruling only women were able to spend up to £25($50) a month of their jail income on such products.
The court ruling will be seen as many as another example of prisoners rights gone to far.
The judge commented, "Members of one sex cannot be denied their cosmetics choices simply because they are more typically found among the opposite sex." He then went on to say, “Although the interest in cosmetics may be more widespread or frequently stronger among women than among men, it is not a biologically determined interest among women.” The prisoner claimed that if he wanted to use products such as clarins makeup then that is his right to, the case will now go to a lower court where the Prison will have the chance to argue and overturn the ruling based and security concerns, this may also lead to copycat cases across Europe and in America. Also in the trial the judge rules the male prisoners should have the same rights as females inmates when it comes to the use of phones as the men's wing did not have a private room for which to use the phone.

animal pests controlling

Some animals can pose problems in the environment and therefore need to be controlled. Any animal has the potential to become a pest when introduced to a new environment. In New Zealand, there are plenty of examples of animals that have become pests and the focus of large control programmes. Possums, rabbits and mustelids are major pests of the environment that affect native flora and fauna as well as farmland productivity.

Problems with animals are numerous. Rabbits affect pasture quality and livestock due to their extensive feeding and burrowing habits. Possums consume thousands of tonnes of vegetation a night in New Zealand as well as being a vector of Bovine tuberculosis. Mustelids attack bird species, particularly ground dwelling birds, which in many cases are highly endangered.

Trapping can be used for animal control. This method is also used when it is not appropriate to use chemicals. Depending on the animal will depend on the type of trap used. Trapping is also a method of monitoring the pest population in an area and gives the residual trap catch rate.

There are many chemical methods used to control animals. Depending on the pest that you want to control will depend on the chemical used. Chemicals can affect animals in different ways therefore if you are controlling a number of pests there may be a variety of bait stations and baits laid which need to be monitored and replenished at different times and rates.

Shooting is another commonly used method of controlling animal pests. For possums and rabbits it is however labour intensive and not used as frequently as trapping and baiting. In the South Island of New Zealand the rabbit problem is so bad that there are annual rabbit shoots that can net tens of thousands of rabbits.

Possums were introduced for the fur trade in New Zealand but what a disaster. Endangered in Australia the reverse is true in New Zealand. The New Zealand climate is ideal and they can breed up to twice a year. There are no natural predators in New Zealand for these animals. In New Zealand the plants have never had to develop defence mechanisms, so all are palatable to the hungry possum. This means that native trees like the rata and pohutukawa are threatened by the possums eating behaviours. They can also vector a disease of cattle – bovine tuberculosis which is a significant disease for farmers to be faced with.

Rabbits, like possums were introduced to NZ in the 1800’s as part of a fur trade. They were even introduced multiple times before they flourished. Once they were flourishing it was soon apparent that people needed to think about how to control them as they quickly became a problem. Extensive feeding and burrowing in pasture destroys the grass and creates hazards for livestock in those paddocks.

Three types of mustelids were introduced to New Zealand as a way of controlling rabbits. They have become as much of a problem as the animal they were introduced to control. Ferrets, weasels and stoats feed on the eggs and chicks of birds. In New Zealand, many birds like the kiwi are ground dwelling which makes them easy targets for these predators.

British Drivers Found Safest in Europe

A Europe-wide 'Road Behaviour survey' conducted by AXA insurance interviewed 800 drivers from nine European countries. The results indicated that 92% of British drivers feel safe on the roads whereas the European average is 72%.

About half of the British drivers surveyed believed that law enforcement was stricter on British roads.

The study showed that 3 out of 4 British drivers thought they were good drivers and around 64% also believed that they were better drivers than other European drivers.

Britain is remarkable as it has one of the lowest rates of road-deaths with around 5.4 in 10,000 road users being killed each year. This is slightly worse than Switzerland but better than Germany. While these three countries have excellent road safety scores they also present high fatality rates in the 18-24 age group.

There were some interesting differences of opinion between British drivers and those from other countries. 92% of Britons think that answering a mobile telephone without a hands-free set was dangerous compared with 85% from other countries. Also, 95% of Britons agreed that driving fast while close to the vehicle in front was dangerous whereas around 90% of drivers from other European countries agreed. Similarly, 92% of British drivers agreed that drunk driving was dangerous whereas only 85% of other European drivers agreed.

The survey also indicated that most British drivers would support the introduction of automatic in-built sensors that would enforce speed limit restrictions and, although they are often the source of complaints, speed cameras were recognised as a valuable means to reduce the seriousness of accidents.

A spokesperson commented that British drivers clearly put safety high on their list of priorities compared with other European drivers. Drivers from Britain would welcome technological enhancements that would make the roads safer. It will not be long before all new vehicles will be fitted with automatic sensors and controls that will detect the current speed limit and restrict the attainable top speed.

Intriguing Solar Energy Facts, You Need to Know]

There is more to solar energy than the big panels on the roof of homes.  This article is going to expose some of those other solar energy facts.  Back in the 1960's, solar power came to the front.  Very few used it, but today, still less than 1% used it, but today our hybrid cars are running up and down the highway using solar energy.  Solar energy is free.

Our electricity bills get higher each and every year.  We can take this solar power using Earth4Energys kit for a fraction of what it cost us for electricity.  Our environment is in trouble today with green house problems, solar does not damage the environment at all.

Ages ago, we considered people who applied solar energy to heat their houses pretty much as fruitcakes.  Today, the people who were using this energy source are the one's who are laughing.  Each day we watch the monetary value of oil grow and fall.  Never knowing where it is going to be tomorrow.  Then there is the trouble with global warming stairing us in the face.  People who practice the alternative energy source like solar and wind energy are the people who are saving and not to worring about the rise and fall of oil for warming and cooling or running their houses.

New construction are beginning to take part in the solar arena.  They are being built with the idea of solar or some type of alternative energy.  Big business is concerned about the environment as well.  You can do a lot more with solar other than just warming our homes.  Solar and wind energy can be used for working our appliance's as well as some electronic devices that we use.   We all know about the solared power calculators.  In most cases there is some type of rechargable storage device, but in some cases there is not even a battery needed.  So let's use this to run other things.

If you blend solar energy with wind power, you can even have more of an energy impact.  Heating our homes, working our automobile, operating electronic devices, appliances are just a couple idea's for solar energy purposes. Saving lives is another, such as cleaning water for people to drink in some third world countries.  Solar and wind energy can be used for a lot more than we have even thought about yet.

In order to use solar energy and stay with this technology, more emphasis has to be made on the growing concern over the cost of energy as well as the impact that it has on the eco system.  Both those who are concerned about saving money and those who are concerned with the environment will agree that solar energy is a hopeful means at solving a problem with regard to the higher cost and high impact of today’s types of energy.

Nike kick up a stink

Nike are in hot water again, but this time its something a little more trivial, BBC Watchdog has been reporting a somewhat stinky issue over certain Nike football boots, the Nike mercurial and Total 90's to be exact, these boots can cost anywhere up to £100 and there have been a lot of complaints over a certain smelly issue.
The problems seem to happen once they have been worn, and in wet conditions it seems worse. Matt Vickers who lives in Burton and plays football for his local under 13 side had worn them for the first time and on the way back home Matt's father had to open the windows in his car the smell was that bad. Luckily for Matt a family friend owns a company which sells commercial laundry equipment so he took the boots there. But even after they has been washed several times and in some industrial large washing machines the smell still had not gone.
Matt Jones who lives in Sheffield had the same problem, everyone kept blaming the cat he said because the smell was like cat wee.

The BBC took up the case and took the boots to Kevin Guildford who is one of the UK'S leading footwear specialists, Kevin explained that it was the material inside the boots that was causing the problem, "when the cotton canvas gets wet it rots, the moisture cant escape because of the materials around the cotton don't let it breath.

Nike have since told the BBC that they have seen a small number of cases with this problem, and whilst it doesn't affect the performance of the boot they do understand the inconvenience and embarrassment that could be caused.
They have told their customers that if they take the boots back to the store they will be given a full refund.

How To Create Your Own Myspace Avatars

myspace avatars

Are you looking for unique Myspace avatars? There are hundreds to choose from at sites like www.myspace-avatars.org, www.coolavatars.net and www.skamu.com, yet www.glitter-graphics.com has some of the best selections, from cat slide-shows and smooching cartoon monkeys, to Starbucks frappuccinos and anime character animations. Perhaps you want a funny stick figure bashing his head into the computer to show your frustration with technology, or you can't get enough of the dancing Kermit the Frog icon with the "yay ohmygod" caption. Find an avatar that suits you and use it on your main profile pic, affixed as your message board tag, as a posted message on someone's "comments" section or as your IM icon.

If you'd like to create your own Myspace avatars the computer geek way, then you'll need a computer with an internet connection, movie software like Quicktime or MovieSnapshot and photo editing software that can create layers, like Adobe Photoshop. To create still images from a movie/AVI file, you'll need to choose an animated sequence, video or movie trailer. If you have a movie on DVD you'd like to grab a scene from, then you'll need to rip your DVD into an AVI file using appropriate software.

Next, you'll have to play the video clip, pause on the shot you want to make an avatar out of. Some software will allow you to select "create thumbnail" or "save image," or in other cases you'll need to click "print screen" on your keyboard and paste into MS Paint to save as a screen shot. Advance the clip to the next frame and create a still image, and continue doing this for as long as you want the sequence to go on. Then you can open all the still images in Photoshop and place each image in its own layer, saving the animation as a GIF file.

If you'd like to build animated Myspace avatars, then you'll need to first choose a set of still images from your computer. They could be a movie, a word, an object, a series of images or an image you have made slight modifications to in a series (sort of like a flip-book). It's best to choose a short sequence without drastic movement, since your avatar will be continuously looping. In Photoshop, open each image into one file, placing each on a separate layer, being careful to line the images up perfectly. Then crop the file to the appropriate size. While previewing, you can set the time of each frame (usually one second) and save as a GIF file, which you can then upload to your Myspace photo album.

Want to send your Myspace friend a message? Check out the wide variety of Myspace avatars! You can send your boyfriend an animated avatar of two cartoon monkeys kissing, or you can send your best friend a "friends forever" icon with two cats hugging. There are birthday animations or just plain funny animations that you can post because they remind you of someone in particular. Avatars are a great way to let Myspace friends know you are thinking them, in addition to expressing yourself.

Homemade Solar Power – How To Generate Your Own Solar Power And Save Money

In this time of high cost electric energy, having your own homemade solar power can be beneficial especially, because solar power is cost free and abundant in supply. Read on, because we will discuss several advantages and disadvantages of solar power and later on we will tell how you can make your own homemade solar power for a price less than $500.

1. Advantages Of Solar Power

- What I like about solar power is that it is a renewable source of energy, no matter how much you use it. You will always find plenty of it as long as the sun is up. So you can use it over and over again without need to worry it will diminish.

- It doesn´t produce pollution, unlike any other sources of energy that pollute our environment incurring global warming to our world.

- Low maintenance cost. Homemade solar power equipment needs a very low maintenance cost and can last for a lifetime. Unlike any other generators you might just need to check it once a year and it would be perfectly fine.

2. Disadvantages Of Homemade Solar Power

- Unfortunately, solar power cannot be generated without sunlight; some areas have such a bad weather until they have only sunlight few times during the year.

- Ready made solar panel systems are still too expensive since they are not manufactured in large quantities and that could put people off.

How To Produce Your Own Solar Power

Buying homemade solar power is not cheap and can cost you thousands of dollars, however you can build your own solar power equipment for less than $500. You can find almost all the necessary equipments at your local electric store.

Some of the necessary equipments are small solar panel, deep cycle 12 volt battery, box for protection from children or animal, 12 volt DC meter and DC input.

Michael Harvey has written a guide on how to make your solar generator yourself that cost less than $200.

If you want to learn how to generate your own solar power yourself, check out Michael Harvey Earth4Energy guide. Check out my Earth4Energy review here.

Our Energy Ravenous World Needs Renewable Resources

The planet the way it is these days is an energy hungry place and it's imperative that we be searching renewable channels of power to furnish that need. We should also discover cleaner modes of using the present-day sustainable energy technology that are already in place. We should all be worried about the affect that is being placed on our globe and how the high price of energy is affecting us. The energy that is thrown down the drain every day is indictable and everybody should take a look at what they could do to be more moderate in their utilization. It doesn't make any sense the total amount of energy that is wasted each and every day. People really need to be more cognizant of what they could do to be more conservative in their utilization. There are solutions to these problems but how inclined have individuals been to implement these solutions at the present.

One of the more popular forms of sustainable energy is wind power. The price of the power it develops is getting really competitive with conventional methods of energy production such as coal and natural gas. Windmills have been used for a long time to produce power. Back in the day farmers were real trend setters because you could find one on every farm and it was used to provide power not as a yard decoration. It is an identified fact right now that the states of Texas, Kansas, and North Dakota have enough wind to furnish power for the entire U.S.

Corn has also been touted as wonderful source of renewable fuel. The ethanol that is made from corn is a clean burning energy source and crops can be grown year after year so it is inexhaustible but at what cost. The cost of corn has gone up as the result of this, which is good for the farmer but bad for the consumer. Prairie grass has been shown to a far superior alternative to corn. In reality it generates more energy per acre than corn. Plus you don’t have to cultivate it because it grows wild. No chemicals are needed to grow it, all that is needed is to harvest and process it.

Another renewable energy source we see and hear more of is solar power. You have the solar panels which convert sunlight into electricity and solar water heater to produce hot water. I recently read an article in a solar energy magazine about a family that installed a solar energy system on their home. They lived in Seattle. Of all the place in the world to put up a solar installation. Believe or not they had a respectable payback. The payback figures for the system were impressive even for a mostly overcast area like this.

Solar power offers the chance for people to take charge of their own energy independence and self-sufficiency. This would allow a shift from centralized power production to decentralization. Think about it, there hasn't been a lot of money spent on the research and development so costs remain high and the cause doesn't advance. It seems the corporate world definitely like to be in control and we are already aware that there are dealings going on behind closed doors that aren't always in the publics best interest.

The oil reserves are going to dry up someday. Are we waiting for that day before we are going to start doing something about it. A new energy plan needs to be set in place. One that is sustainable and long lasting. It can start to benefit us now and will definitely benefit our children. Do your part in helping to make renewable energy a bigger reality today.

You can learn more about solar chargers, wind turbines , and other forms of green energy sources by studying on the Web about the subject that interests you the most. Become sustainable and help keep the planet healthy and alive for future generations.

Tips When Creating Your Facebook Profile

share stories

If you are looking to join a social networking site that has millions of members, then you may want to consider joining Facebook. With over thirty-six million members it is a way to find friends, share stories or simply blog about your daily life. If you are new to such websites, then creating a Facebook profile can seem daunting. Do not let it scare you away. It is remarkably easy to create and modify your own profile so that it is as unique as you are.

To create a Facebook profile you are going to need an email address and you must be over the age of thirteen. Your email address will be used as your Facebook login. The process starts by you going to www.facebook.com. This brings you to the initial Facebook page that will allow you to create an account.

On the initial page of the Facebook website there is a "Register" link. This is where you will provide your email address, full name, a password and your birth date. Why does the profile Facebook need your birth date? It is because you must be thirteen years of age in order to use this social networking site. After you have entered your information you will be sent a confirmation email to the email address that you have provided. Simply click on the link within the email and you will be taken back to the Facebook website.

Once you have your Facebook login and have actually logged in, it will be time to find friends and create a unique profile for you. You may have to perform a Facebook search in order to find your friends. Or you can tell them your information and have them add you as a friend from their own Facebook page. It really is that easy.

There is one downside to using Facebook, over its rival MySpace. You will not be able to have the page layouts and designs that are offered through the use of HTML or CSS. Facebook uses a text based program to customize profiles. This is probably one of the many reasons why people use MySpace as their social networking site, yet many people use both Facebook and MySpace so that they can connect with more people. You can utilize this method as well.

Your Facebook profile can be anything that you wish it to be. Do you want to advertise that you own a flip-flop shop? Then by all means do so. You can upload photos, share stories and simply find friends that you have lost contact with throughout the years. Your profile is your face to the rest of the Facebook users so customize it with a picture of you, your family or your pet.

Have You Heard Of The Myspace Phenomenon?

www myspace com

Did you know that 73% of social networking folks in America are on www myspace com? According to www.hitwise.com, Myspace web traffic is down 6% since last year, but the site still claims to have over 100 million users, nonetheless. Social networking sites have become more than just an email/messaging system; it is a place where people can share music clips, funny videos and express themselves through personal photos and blogs. If you are new to Myspace, then don't worry, as much of its success is owed to its user-friendliness.

For those who are just getting started, there is a basic Myspace layout template that anyone can easily use by simply entering in data regarding their favorite music, TV shows, a biography and other personal information. However, for the more experienced users, this is not enough. Some HTML fans know how to use Myspace codes to add unique features to their pages, while others develop themed Myspace backgrounds, text and add-ons through a third party site like www.mywackospace.com, www.glittergraphics.com or www.pimpmyprofile.com. It becomes almost an addiction for some people who seem to change something on their page every day! Self-expression builds confidence in web users, all the while entertaining and even educating, as every day citizens learn more about web design!

Another addictive quality about www myspace com is its store-and-share capacity. Members can upload funny videos from www.youtube.com to share with their friends or add personal and favorite photos. It used to be one needed to have a www.photobucket.com account to add photos online or had to subscribe to a news site to get videos. Today, everything is online and free! Information spreads like wildfire and there is no limit for how amused you can be.

The website, www myspace com, has been making waves in the music community. Bands can upload photos, songs, tour dates and backgrounds, as well as sell music and merchandise. Not only does Myspace enable small bands an unprecedented grassroots marketing vehicle, but they've even gone so far as to start their own music label to support emerging artists. Lilly Allen and Sean Kingston credit much of their success to the social networking site. Additionally, punk band Pennywise ran an extensive promotion for their newest record that allowed Myspace users a free download. What Are The Popular Myspace Generators?

Myspace codes

Welcome to the wonderful world of Myspace generators, where you can try your hand at graphic design without any prior training! Myspace codes are certain word and symbol combinations that allow you to hide various things on your profile. For instance, you may not want your friends or your comments visible to the general public, so you'll need to embed special coding into your profile boxes to "hide" this information. On the other hand, there are certain word and symbol combinations that allow you to add elements. Here are some of the most popular ways to enhance your Myspace profile.

One type of generator involves your main Myspace layout. You'll be able to upload images from another website or your computer and arrange them where you'd like. Additionally, you can use a Comment Box Generator to create a stylish custom box where your friends can type you messages. You may also create Custom Scroll Boxes of text or images with the Scroll Box Generators. Or perhaps you'd like a custom Drop Down List to include your favorite foods, best friends, favorite music, etc., or original "Online Now" icons. A Glitter Text Generator can say whatever you want it to say, in whichever colors or font you want, all the while looking glamorous. A Myspace generator can be used to give your background that extra-professional and creative boost.

Some of the most popular Myspace generators are the song and video generators. To show off your personality, you can turn your favorite music tracks into HTML code so the songs will play on your profile page. You can also go to a site like www.playlist.com, where you can put together a custom made music playlist, which you can embed on your profile for friends to listen to. At www.myspacegens.com you can get a Flash music player, which you also have the option of hiding, so your friends will hear the songs playing but won't see the track listing. You can also add a YouTube video on your page by snagging the HTML code or you can add one of your favorite music videos from www.mywackospace.com. With generators, sharing your personal interests has never been easier.

Using Myspace generators is easy to do and requires little to no knowledge of HTML and CSS codes, but they are a little more challenging than simply cutting and pasting generic pre-made layouts. You'll need to decide upon many design elements, like borders, spacing, colors, alignment, etc. While it could take several hours to complete your new Myspace profile, you'll feel glad you did it when you receive many compliments from your friends.

Domestic Violence May Lead To Crime

domestic violence

Every day, more than three women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends in America. In 2000, there were 1,247 females and 440 males who were murdered by their partner. Additionally, homicide is the leading cause of death for pregnant mothers; more than cancer, respiratory failure, car accidents, drug overdoses and suicide. While intimate partner crime may not always lead to such a tragic end, an abusive relationship may sneak up on the victim and escalate suddenly, and it may also leave the individual with long-lasting emotional scars.

Physical abuse is the most common definition of domestic violence crime. Behaviors range from hitting, grabbing and choking to throwing things or assaulting with a weapon. According to a Center for Disease Control study, individuals who were victims of intimate partner violence were three times more likely to get a sexually transmitted disease, more than twice as likely to smoke and binge drink and were more likely to have arthritis, high blood pressure and a disability later in life. It's important to remember that even if the violence occurs in one's own home, the police have the power and authority to protect you from an attack. Additionally, they will be able to find you a temporary place to stay if you need one.

Emotional abuse is the vehicle that assaulters use to continue their cycle of violence. By psychologically degrading their partner, these rapists and bullies can remove all self-worth and independence, instill a sense of guilt and fear, as well as create a scenario where the victim loses all contact with friends and family. Victims often feel like there is no way out. Oprah Winfrey once said that a man who can call his partner such deplorable and degrading names is just one step away from a physical crime.

If you are a victim of intimate partner crime, then first you must call the police. The officers can protect you, help you and your children leave safely, can arrest the assaulter or order a restraining order if necessary. Next, tell your supportive family and friends what's going on and find a safe haven. If you need medical attention, then be sure you seek it. Memory loss, dizziness, loss of eye sight, throwing up and persistent headaches could be warning signs of serious injury. By developing a safety plan, you can prevent future violence against you and your children.

US warned Mumbai over terroist attack

Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

It is shocking to think that the terrible disaster in Mumbai, India could have been avoided. According to reports, the plans to attack Mumbai were found at least two months before they happened. The United States intelligence bureau, FBI, reported that Mumbai and Bombay were under threat of terrorist attacks. The FBI had even supplied destinations as to where they may attack including the Taj Hotel.
The revelation that was reported by ABC News follows other claims that warnings went unheeded or were not properly dealt with. Indian intelligence officials have said that a phone call to a number in Pakistan belonging to Lashar-e-Taiba, the group that is believed to of carried out the attacks. The satellite phone call also pointed out that there will be sea bourne attacks on the city.
The Chairman of the Taj Hotel admitted that the security was temporarily heightened following the initial warning then relaxed. The report does not actually indicate why the hotel management thought it would be suitable to relax once they had received the report, perhaps they thought that it was a false alarm?
The Federal Bureau of Investigation Scotland Yard and Israeli intelligence arrived in Bombay late on Sunday night and quickly got to examine the sites that were reported to apparently be attacked. Various agents working with Indian intelligence had been analysing SIM cards from phones and had apparently recovered a "treasure trove" of information about the attacks.
Officials also indicated that the SIM cards could of been taken within the US. Once the agents actually have the number they can analyse who was called and hopefully uncover everyone that was involved in the plot. However the FBI's investigation was slightly stalled in Mumbai as they were detained at the border. Their forensic equipment was analysed closely due to the fact that they had not provided an inventory in advance according to reports by Indian officials.
Either way it does seem to appear that these horrible attacks were anticipated which is desperately unfortunate. So, it goes to show that nothing of this magnitude can't be ignored, especially when people’s lives are at stake.

Another recession fatality

UK chain store, Woolworths who sell anything and everything from chocolate bars to notepads have gone into administration this week. Since their fall in gross profits and turnover the company have seriously been struggling to keep their heads above water. This week the company finally declared that Woolworths will be going into administration. The company responsible for Woolworth's assets, Hilco, sold the remains of the assets for only £1 as the company is literally worth nothing.
Celebrity businessman, Theo Paphitis is one of the many investors looking to take over the company. The company has 815 stores across the UK and it surely has attracted plenty of companies and investors to take it over as soon as possible. Even retail giants such as, WH-Smith, Boots, ASDA and Tesco are looking to take the stores and convert them. Many companies have even been enquiring over taking some of the stock in the Woolworth stores.
I am not surprised that Woolworths is going down. The retail store is way more over priced than it used to be. The company was due to celebrate its centenary year next year however negotiations to save the company collapsed last week and now the company will face liquidation.
Yet the company is looking on the positive side of things, the BBC have suggested that Woolworths release a DVD documenting all the companies demise. I'm not exactly sure who will be watching that DVD but they are making it none the less. It will be pretty amusing to see what they will actually film?

It is a bit sad to see the Woolworth chain go down the drain, they have been around for years and sell just about everything. But I guess in the current credit crunch there is no room for a shop that charges too much for the most basic goods.

Is It Worth Buying Photos On Facebook?

Facebook

Why anyone would buy photos to put onto their Facebook profile is beyond reckoning. It is a free site that allows people to share stories, find friends or simply blog about their day. If you are new to Facebook or its competitor MySpace, then you may have a few questions when it comes to handling your profile and making it unique. A little knowledge about how Facebook works will go a long way to creating your perfect profile for other members to view.

Do not buy photos. Your Facebook albums can be filled with whatever pictures you want. The hardest part of the entire process will be sending the pictures from your camera to your computer and then uploading them onto the site. There are some specific steps that you go through in order to upload pictures onto your profile and into your albums.

The first hurdle you must cross is the Facebook login. Once you have logged in it is time to go to your account and find the update account information. This is the place where you put in your personal information. There is a section devoted to creating albums and uploading pictures. If you need help, then simply click the help photos link. Facebook will provide you with step-by-step instructions on creating your albums and will have a section devoted to uploading photos into these albums. There is a maximum number of photos you can put in one album (it is sixty) but you can create as many albums as you wish.

The profile Facebook allows you to create can be whatever you want to make of it. Upload your family vacation pictures into the Facebook album pages and you can share stories about your adventures with your friends. Having a picture on your profile page is a great way for you to find friends and have them find you as well. It definitely beats the generic picture that all users have when they first create a profile. If you want to keep some of your photos private, then there is an option for that as well. So you let people see what you want them to see. How easy is that?

There are a few instances where you do buy photos that eventually wind up on your Facebook profile. You may need a photo lab to print off your pictures onto a disc which would cost you money. You could also be purchasing pictures that are copyrighted by your favorite photographer. But those are generally the only two cases that it would be acceptable to purchase photographs. Once you have your photos assembled, it is time to upload and create albums for your friends and family to enjoy as they browse your profile on Facebook.

How Is Geothermal Energy Turned Into Electricity

The most focus in the renewable energy industry is placed on solar energy and wind power but there is much potential in geothermal energy. It has already been used to provide power to 1.2 million homes in the United States. It has far greater potential and to both heat and provide electricity to homes and is yet to be properly utilized. That's about to change.

There is an enormous level of energy stored beneath the earth's surface coming from a list of sources: the earth's core, decay of naturally occurring substances within the crust and movement of continental plates as they slide against and underneath each other. Volcanoes, hot springs and steam vents represent the easily accessible points to this energy but most geothermal energy is trapped under the earth’s crust and must be accessed by drilling into the resource and harnessing the energy. The thermal energy in the uppermost 6 miles of the earth’s crust contains 50,000 times the energy of all the world’s gas and oil resources.

What Is Geothermal Energy?

Geothermal energy is the heat stored beneath the surface of the earth. In some parts of the world where the earth’s surface is cracked or thin, steam and molten rock can escape. These are usually locations of high seismic activity such as volcanoes and earthquakes. If water finds its way into these cracks, it becomes heated and may come to the surface as geysers, fumaroles, hot springs and mud pots.

Parts of Europe, USA, New Zealand and Japan have high geothermal activity. Electricity is generated using high grade geothermal energy such as geysers, hot dry rocks, mud pots and fumaroles. Geothermal energy can also be used as a heating source, for example in Iceland hot water is brought to the surface through a bore , then sent through insulated pipes into homes and radiator panels which provide heat. Over 80% of homes in Iceland are heated this way.

Although geothermal energy doesn’t pollute the air with greenhouse gases, there are other environmental concerns about its use. Scientists are not sure how the long-term use of this resource could affect our underground water supplies. Some geothermal tourist attractions at Rotorua in New Zealand have already suffered a decline in surface activity due to the draw-off of geothermal fluid from the underground reservoir by domestic and commercial uses.

Geothermal energy can be broken down into 4 main types – Geothermal energy can be broken down into 4 main types – hot dry rock, geopressured, magma and hydrothermal.

Hydrothermal

Hydrothermal is the only source used to generate commercially viable energy and is derived from hot water and steam formed in porous or fractured rock at relatively moderate depths from 100 metres to 5 kilometres.

The steam and hot water are formed from the intrusion of molten magma into the earth’s crust or the deep circulation and heating of groundwater through faults and fractures.

To generate electricity, hot water at temperatures ranging from 180 – 250 degrees Celsius is brought from the underground reservoir to the surface through production wells and is flashed to steam in special vessels by release of pressure. The steam is then used by being directed into a turbine engine which turns a generator. Ensuring the water levels are not depleted, the used geothermal water is returned to the reservoir.

Geopressured

Geopressured energy is derived from hot, pressurised waters containing dissolved methane, trapped at depths of three to six kilometres in sedimentary formations. The water temperature ranges from 90°C to 200°C.

Energy in 3 forms can be captured from geopressured sources – thermal energy from the hot water, hydraulic energy from the high pressure, and chemical energy from burning the dissolved methane.

Hot Dry Rock

Hot dry rock is a heated geological formation consisting of dry, impermeable rock, usually granite. Unlike hydrothermal resources, the fractures and faults required to conduct water to the surface are not present, therefore water must be pumped into the rock at high pressure to create an artificial underground reservoir of steam or hot water.

Obtaining energy from hot dry rock has not been implemented commercially since well costs increase dramatically with depth, and questions about resistance of the reservoir to flow, water loss and thermal drawdown remain. As the cost of producing geothermal using hot dry rock technology keeps coming down it will soon be an economically viable option.

Magma

Magma is the molten or partially molten rock that is found at depths between three and 10 kilometres beneath the Earth’s crust and reaches temperatures up to 1200°C. While some magma resources are at accessible depths, a practical means of extracting energy directly from magma has yet to be developed, instead magma is used indirectly by exploiting the water it has heated. Magma is only accessible where volcanic activity or tectonic plate movement occurs.

The Future Prospect of Geothermal Energy in the US

An exciting new development in the future of geothermal energy in the United States has just been announced by the Department of the Interior who have promised to make 190 million acres of federal land available for geothermal power development. This is good news because the proposed land includes no environmentally sensitive areas such as national parks or designated wilderness areas.

An estimation of something like 5,500 MW of electricity from geothermal power will be generated by 2015. It’s a positive move that will promote a form of renewable energy that has been used for years, but perhaps not to its full potential.

Moses and the Passover Story

When looking into the  Passover story and the reasons why it is celebrated as it is, it is important to understand who Moses was and the major role that he played in the story.  The story of Moses and Passover is recited during the seder on the first night of holiday, and it can easily be seen why he was so honored in this way.

The history of Moses is reflective of the history of all of the Jewish people in Egypt.  Jacob and his son Joseph came to Egypt and over the generations that followed, they were successful and multiplied in this country.  Because of their number and because of their power, the pharaoh of the land, Ramses II, enslaved them and underneath his cruelty, the Jewish people suffered severely.  Because they were so numerous, the pharaoh commanded that all newborn sons be killed and because of this, Jacob's great-grandson Amram put his own son, Moses, into the river in a basket of reeds, hoping that he might be saved.

Moses was discovered by the daughter of the pharaoh, who found him as she came down to bathe, and he was adopted into the Egyptian royalty.  She hired Moses' own mother, Yocheved, to nurse him, and in this way, he discovered his heritage.  At the age of eighty, Moses came before the pharaoh commanding that the Jewish people be freed.  The pharaoh, despite a display of Moses's power and faith, refused to do so, and thus the ten plagues came down on Egypt.

The tenth plague gives Passover its name; the Angel of Death came and slew every first born son in Egypt, sparing only the sons of the Jews, who had warded the Angel off with lamb's blood on the lintels of their doorways.  In this way, the first born sons of the Jews were “passed over.”

The Pharaoh freed the Jews, but as they left, he grew to regret it.  He pursued them to the shores of the Red Sea, where Moses parted the waters to allow his people to walk across.  Behind them, the Pharaoh and his army tried to follow, but the waves came down, drowning them all.

The story of Moses is the story of a man who had a deeply personal and powerful relationship with God, and how he chose to serve his people.  Though the story of Moses continues in great detail after the escape from Egypt, this is the portion of the story that most concerns the holiday of Passover.

The Passover Story

A Summary of the Passover Story

The holiday of Passover, which is also known as Pesach, Pesah and Peysekh, is one of the most important holidays on the Jewish calender.  It is a holiday for a celebration of freedom and for the telling of a very important part part of Jewish history, and even small children can appreciate the meaning behind the story and how it relates to them.

Passover commemorates the departure of the Jews from Egypt.  At the time, the Jewish people were enslaved by the pharaoh, the great king of Egypt.  He saw that they grew powerful, and because of this, the Jews were repressed and kept in suffering.  They were forced to work in harsh conditions and under the rule of the Pharaoh, the Jewish people suffered very greatly.  There came a time when a Jewish couple sought to protect their newborn son from oppression, and so they floated him down the river on a basket of reeds.  This baby was Moses and he was picked up the pharaoh's daughter and reared as an Egyptian.

When Moses discovered his heritage, he came to the Pharaoh and asked that the Jewish people be released.  The Pharaoh, in his arrogance and pride, refused, and because of this, Egypt was stricken with ten plagues, each one more dire than the last.  The final plague called upon the Angel of Death, who slew every first born son in Egypt, save those of the Jews, who had sprinkled their lintels with lamb's blood, prompting the Angel to pass them over.  This is what gives the holiday its name.

After the tenth plague, the pharaoh released the Jews, but when the Jews were on their way out, decided against his former decision.  He and all his cavalry chased the Jews to the Red Sea.  In front of his people, Moses caused the waters to open up to allow them safe passage.  As the pharaoh's army attempted to follow behind them, the waters came crashing down, ending the Egyptian threat and signaling a new day for the Jewish people.

One of the signature events of Passover is the recounting of the Passover story of these events, and the seder dinner, which occurs on the first night of Passover, is intended as a reminder of the experiences of the Jewish people during this difficult but ultimately hopeful time.

CSP - Solar Thermal Electricity

There are predominantly two types of solar power generation methods used to generate electricity on a commercial scale. Photovoltaic panels uses the sunlight to directly produce electricity by using solar cells set in photovoltaic modules. Concentrating solar power (CSP) uses thermal solar power, the heat of the sun, to produce environmentally friendly energy.

We will take a look at the way in which concentrating solar power plants create electricity. CSP plants are capable of producing electricity at a higher maximum capacity than a photovoltaic facility of the same size. They will play an increasingly important role in the move away from fossil-fuel sourced energy to that of renewable energy.

Commercially, four types of concentrating solar power are in use: parabolic troughs, dish / engine systems, fresnel reflectors and central receiver systems. The technology involved with each is proven and either has been or still is in operation around the world with further solar power development in progress to increase global capacity.

Parabolic troughs use mirrors to direct sunlight onto a fluid-filled receiver positioned in directly in front of each trough. The fluids are heated to very high temperatures so that super-charged steam is generated. A conventional steam generator is then used to produce electricity.

A trough-based CSP plant typically consists of rows of mirrored troughs placed parallel to each other along a north-south axis in what is known as a collector field. The troughs pivot as they follow the sun to ensure that it is continuously focused on the receiver tubes. Thermal storage is also used to allow electricity generation to continue either when the sun is not shining or after it has set. Technological advancements are continuing to prolong this production period in a bid to move to continuous solar electricity production.

One of the largest developments to use the parabolic trough design is the Andasol project in Spain. The surface area of the mirrors used to form the energy collection field of Andasol 3 alone is around 500,000m2.

Fresnel relectors are similar to parabolic troughs except they are flat mirrors that focus light onto one receiver. This is a simpler system to the parabolic trough system with fewer moving parts and the rows can be positioned closer together. The receiver is stationary and it is shared by several mirrors.

An example of a recently commissioned CSP plant using reflector technology is the Kimberlina CSP plant in California developed by Ausra. This 5MW CSP power plant is a demonstration of the technology that will be used in much larger scale developments in the future.

Dish / engine systems are stand-alone units that contain dish-shaped parabolic mirrors that concentrate the sun’s energy onto a receiver mounted above the dish. From there the energy is converted into mechanical power and electricity is generated similar to the way a mechanical engine runs. Each dish / engine unit has a capacity of around 25kW of solar power and it tracks the sun to ensure optimum power.

An example of the dish / engine technology is the Stirling Energy Systems dish called the Suncatcher. It will be used in fields of thousands to form a power facility capable of generating over 500MW of electricity.

Central receiver systems are also known as power towers. These concentrating power systems operate through the use of thousands of mirrors called heliostats that track the sun and reflect the heat energy onto a receiver that sits at the top of a tall tower. Molten salt is heated as it passes through the receiver and this then makes steam which operates a conventional steam generator. The molten salt can be stored for great lengths of time which means that this type of solar energy generates electricity continuously around the clock.

An example of a central receiver system in development is the Solar Tres power plant being built in Spain. The Solar Tres power plant will be a 15MW facility and it follows on from the successful demonstration power plant known as Solar Two which was located in the Mojave Desert.

One of the crippling problems with solar energy has been the high cost per watt of electricity, but technological advancements are bringing those costs down. Already, concentrating solar power plants hold a huge advantage over the traditional fossil fuelled counterparts in the lower impact to the environment. In fact, one of the only impacts that concentrating solar power plants have on the environment is land use.

Solar power continues to grow and with continued support it will eventually become one of the main sources of electricity around the world. Concentrating solar power has proven to be a renewable energy source with still more untapped potential

Public Death Records – How To Find Death Records Online

The easiest way to view public death records is through the internet but you may have to pay a little extra for that. But if you want to pay less, then may I suggest that you do it through a government agency.

Getting public death records in a government agency is quite easy and cheaper but still it will require you a great deal of time. While viewing them through the internet is more convenient but it does require you to pay a little bit more.

I guess nothing is really free in this world. It is quite understandable really because it requires time and labor to update the death records database. Even though you pay more transacting through the internet it is way more convenient because it is just one click away. Unlike getting it through the government, it requires time and energy even though it´s cheaper.

Basically, there are two ways of getting death and birth records. First, you transact through the internet but require a payment in your part.

Secondly, go to through the government agencies which would be most likely free or will require you a minimal payment. The decision is entirely yours to make. If you opted for more convenient and easy access then the internet would be your most likely choice.

But if you have time to spare and you are not really that busy then I think it would not be troublesome to go through the government.

Finding these records is not difficult online. It is available to anyone who wants the information. You may avail it through the internet or if you want you can do it manually, the decision is ultimately yours to make.

Discover the best site to search public death records. If you are in Texas, search Texas death records here.

Understanding Your Carbon Footprint

Many of us cruise through our daily lives completely oblivious to such things as a carbon footprint. The impact we are having to the growing problem of greenhouse gases adds to the whole global warming crisis. Our day to day lives are led in such a way that we simply don't have the time or inclination to stop and wonder how our actions affect the larger picture.

Here's just a personal example of how our energy use is taken for granted. In our house we have multiple digital clocks and they all run 24 hours a day, one in each room - the microwave, the conventional oven, the CD player, the stereo and in each bedroom all has a clock and each one is sucking up passive energy we could be saving, and we don't give it a thought. It’s just one of the assumed “rights” of living in a modern affluent society, we may not use it but we don’t mind paying for it regardless. It may be a little shocking for some people to learn exactly what the level of carbon emissions they produce each year is, as well as the added costs they are incurring simply by being blase about the little things.

You Can’t Change What You Don’t Know

The previous heading sums up a whole range of human instincts and precisely describes one of the roadblocks in front of those trying to educate people on the importance of reducing our carbon footprint. It’s only when someone is shown the consequence for the actions of their daily lives that they can begin to grasp the idea that there is a need for change.

It's only when you find out that the yearly average carbon dioxide production for running a car stands at two and a half tonnes that it hits home that there may be a problem. It also allows you to then set a goal to lower your number for the next year. This now gives you a goal that is possible to quantify and track, giving you a proper aim. Failing to get a definite number with regard to your carbon footprint means that you will be guessing about the amount of carbon dioxide your produce. Any attempt to lower the levels in the future will be all but impossible.

The fact that we each stand to get a direct benefit in terms of cost to reducing our carbon footprint should have people more than a little interested. You save money! Fortunately, the word is slowly getting out there while, with any luck, the levels of carbon dioxide aren't.

Prevent Identity Theft From Happening to You

ID theft is the fastest growing crime in the United States. With an identity theft occurring every four seconds, you have to do what you can to make sure you don’t fall victim to ID theft.

There are a few steps that you can take to reduce the probability of becoming a victim of identity theft. One of the simplest things to do is to just use your common sense. Protect your valuable personal information and do not give it to anybody unless you absolutely have to.

You need to check your credit report on a regular basis to ensure that there hasn’t been any credit opened in your name without your authorization. If you are aware of what should be on your credit bureau report, then it is simple to tell if there has been any criminal activity with your social security number.

You should be using identity theft protection to limit the exposure to the possibility of having your identity stolen. There are a few services that specialize in locking down your identity. ID theft protection services use a identity theft alert so that you are alerted whenever someone tries to open up credit using your social security number.

These ID theft services also reduce the amount of junk mail you receive, which includes credit offers. This limits the chances of mail theft resulting in your identity being stolen.

Also, ID theft solutions monitor the black market and online activity for any unauthorized use or trading of your personal information. Criminals typically will trade your valuable information, such as your social security number and name and address, which is then used to steal your identity.

With ID theft hitting one out of every four houses in America, you need to do what you can to make sure you are protected. Through the use of an identity theft prevention service, you are doing your part to make sure you do not become an ID theft victim. To get more information about these services, you can read about Life Lock reviews.

Commodity price has been increased more than ever before; this brings a toll upon our energy cost. The cost of our electric bills have increased more than ever, this make a lot of people choose solar energy as an alternative solution.

One way is to build your own solar power generator. Now before you laugh it off as impossible, read below and learn how other ordinary people have successfully build their own solar power generator and generate their own electricity.

1. Why Solar Energy?

Why solar energy? Simple, it is free you don´t have to pay anything and unlimited in supply not forget to mention free from pollution. A simple solar power generator can generate enough energy to supply one small house. Most often than not, you will have an excessive supply of energy that you can share with your neighbor.

2. The Cost

You can build a readymade package of solar power generator at Ebay; this will cost you around $2000 to $3000. For those who prefer a cheaper price, you can build your own solar power generator at a price less than $500, what a huge saving!

3. The Equipments Needed

The equipments needed include small solar panel, deep cycle 12 volt battery, box, 12 volt DC meter, DC input. You can find all of those at local electric store for a price less than $500.

One thing I like about solar power is you can use this energy anywhere in the world. Once you have wired everything, your last task is to aim the solar panel in direct sunlight and you can start collecting some solar energy immediately.

4. Conclusion

Building solar power energy is a perfect alternative for people who need a cheaper solution for their electric energy needs. Solar energy are free, unlimited, and don´t produce any pollutant.

You can build your own solar generator at a price less than $500 compare that with $3000 you need to spend if you buy that from Ebay, you can build your own solar generator easily and cheaply.

If you want to learn how to build your own solar generator, i highly recommend you check Michael Harvey Earth4Energy who has several years experience building DIY solar generator. Check out my Earth4Energy review here.

Searching for a Jewish Dictionary

A Jewish Dictionary is something that contains both English and Hebrew words. The idea is that you can go to this dictionary and find out exactly what words mean in the literal sense and also in the explanatory sense.

In order to find a Jewish dictionary online is not as easy as you might have first thought. This is because although there are many dictionaries to look for, some are much easier to use than others.

Let me give you an example:

You find a Hebrew word which you want translated. However do not have a context and also do not know exactly what it means in the other language. First you have to go to the dictionary itself, and then you have to type it in in some way. Once you receive the results, you can never be sure if this is the meaning that you are looking for or not. And if it is not, then how do you know how to progress from there.

That is why you should really be so careful.

A guide of how to find a great Jewish Dictionary is to try and find a name which is a big name in dictionaries or more generally books. Then you can be reasonably sure that the recommendation that they are making is a lot more credible.

Another problem with Jewish dictionaries is that ideally you should know how to read Hebrew. If this is not the case then you will have a problem. This is why I would recommend you if you do not already to try and learn how to read Hebrew.

On another note, learning to read Hebrew is a great skill to have because it means that you if you are ever stuck in Israel and can't find your way out then you will be able to. But seriously, it means that you can read the Bible and all of the scriptures in their original language.

Obama and a future biopic.

Could it be that Oliver Stone is even now planning a biopic of Barack Obama? And if so who would he cast in the film?

Well there are plenty of senior elder black american actors.

The top two are probably Sidney Poitier and Morgan Freeman.

Sidney Poitier was born in 1927 . He was the first black actor to win an Oscar for best actor and was also eminent during the race issues of the 1960's.Nowadays he is the Bahamian ambassador to Japan and was awarded the KBE by the English Queen.

Morgan Freeman was born in 1937 and went on to win an Oscar for best supporting actor in Million Dollar baby.He has a very distinctive voice which enables him to do voice overs, for instance in War of the Worlds and March of the Penguins.Freeman has endorsed the Obama campaign.

Younger black actors?

Well there is Cuba Gooding Jnr, who was born in 1968 which makes him 7 years younger than Obama.Like Freeman he has an Oscar for best supporting actor ( Jerry McGuire).

Denzel Washington was born in 1954 and he won an Oscar for best actor in 2001 for his role in Training Day.

So this covers possible actors for Obama, but what about McCain?

If he was still alive Charlton Heston springs to mind. Born in 1923 he would be 13 years older than McCain but brings impeccable credentials and a history of playing heroic roles. Originally a democrat he lost faith in that party and became a republican in th 1980's.

From the top actors around now who do we have?

Kevin Costner, born 1955, might be a little young to play McCain and he is an Obama supporter. However he has a history of supporting worthy causes and could probably carry the role well.

Tom Cruise, was born in 1962. He has had huge success in the movie world but his allegiances to Scientology would probably rule him out.

Sean Penn, born 1960, also has a history of supporting radical issues and has been an opponent critic of George W Bush.

Kevin Spacey, born 1959, might be able to pull of the role. He has acted in a variety of roles and to la large extent has not be stereotyped by any one role. Unfortunately he is a dedicated democrat so this might well be a challenge for him.

So where does that leave Oliver Stone and his plans? Perhaps we can say that it is too early and maybe if and when Obama finishes his second term he will have aged and weathered enough to allow some of our older actors to take on his role?

And when the captains and the kings have departed what will endure from the presidential race? Hope and faith in the future and maybe, just maybe , this president will not get embroiled in a Hollywoodesque term of office.

Written: November 5th on the 1st day of the future for Obama.

How Samurai Warriors Wore Their Armor

It was not just Roman soldiers and medieval knights that wore armor, but the ancient warriors of China as well. Their protective clothing is known as Samurai Armor.  Made to be very flexible, and gave the wear a wide range of movement.

Like the armor of their peers in Western Europe, Samurai Armor evolved from the materials readily available at the time of development and was augmented over the centuries. In fact, the earliest suits of Samurai Armor were actually made from turtle shells which were fashioned into pieces of protective clothing that could be worn. Samurai armor was made from a mixture of materials that included leather and ornate bronze pieces. Unlike western and ancient armor that relied on steel.

As with other militaries of the era, a suit of Samurai armor was generally reserved for the most important or high ranking soldiers who rode into battle on chariots as opposed to the common foot soldiers. This was actually a good thing, as suits of Samurai Armor were extremely heavy and prolonged marching or battle would have greatly fatigued even the most conditioned soldier in battle.

Adding that spartan and roman armor of the time,Samurai armor embellished heavilly the feeling of significance and power on the person wearing the armor. This not only included the actual pieces of Samurai armor that were protective, but the facemasks and helmets that were worn as well.

Ancient samurai armor in modern day is quite expensive, as they are considered to be collector pieces. These kinds of suits are displayed at many museums in the world. This includes the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco and the National Museum in Liverpool, Great Britain. For less then $5000, you can collect your very own Samuari Armor even though serious collectors are not interested yet in this piece.

Discover The Hidden Super Benefits of Solar Power

The Benefits of Solar Power

The sun produces large amounts of heat that are transmitted down to the earth's surface.  When the sun's rays reach the earth the intensity of the heat directly from the sun is not as hot because some of the heat is rerouted before it reaches the earth's atmosphere.  When the sun is hot and it is summer time we think that it couldn't get very much hotter as the mid day sun makes your run for shade, but it can get hotter if it wasn't rerouted.

Solar power can be hot enough to power machinery and that is exactly what was discovered over one hundred years ago when a man working on some equipment wondered if steam from the heat of the day could be used to power machinery. He was correct and thus began a new form of production, heat and electricity.  Today solar power is being used all across the world.  The solar power is being concentrated into a solar source where the heat is used in a variety of ways.  We still rely on our way of heating and powering our homes but in the future it may all be powered by the sun.  It is cost effective to use home solar power as the only expense you have is in your solar source.

In order to use a solar power system you will need to have something that can attract the sun and allow the heat to be concentrated where it can stay warm for a long period of time.  This is fairly easy when you consider all the knowledge and resources that we already have access to.  When you use solar power for heating and power electricity you cannot go wrong.

Solar power is entrusted in space shuttles as they know that this will help produce the most efficient energy with the least amount of complications.  The solar panels are faced toward the sun at all times in order to be able to power the shuttle efficiently. There are fewer problems from solar power than with other methods.  Even though there are days that there are clouds in the sky and rain, snow or other weather, it is still possible to produce enough heat in your solar source to create enough energy to last until the sun can come back down.  Solar power is in our future we need to be ready for it.  Right now solar power is only being used by those who are more aware and worried about our earth's atmosphere when it is a concern that we should all be worried about.

We can learn a lot from the past and the way that solar power was used.  Every minute of the sunlight was used doing everything that needed done because after the sun went down there was no more light.  I don't think we could do that now.  Solar power panels have so many benefits for us that we don't realize all of them and how it is more efficient to use the solar power than other ways.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: We need to each do more... our planet depends on it

http://www.rustic-lodge-lifestyle.com/index.html

We live in a throw-away society

We're wasteful. Not just on an individual level, but on a much broader scale as well. Our lifestyle is just not sustainable in terms of the world's resources we consume.

The subject of unnecessary waste in our society came sharply into focus for my wife and me over the last couple of years due to numerous trips to take garbage to the county dump.

When renovating our cabin we regularly took construction scrap to the dump (along with our wet garbage). We began to notice a considerable number of perfectly good items that had been thrown out. After seeing this for some time (and rescuing numerous perfectly good items along the way), we started to ask, "What can we do about it?"

We changed our lifestyle to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Although we may think we can't make a difference individually, small steps taken on an individual level can and do make a difference. We must each do our own small part to minimize the waste and excess consumption in our society. Change is possible... indeed, it's absolutely necessary.

One of the most challenging aspects of doing this is the constant bombardment from the media... the non-stop stream of powerful advertising attempting to convince us that we need the latest and greatest gadgets, toys, electronics, cars, and on and on. It's an extremely powerful and effective influence.

And it seems that, unfortunately, a lot of people are too lazy and/or simply don't think about the fact that something that they are throwing away could be used and appreciated by someone else. Nor do they think about the landfill being taken up by perfectly good and useful items.

Our dump experience spawned the idea of a series of short video vignettes that would highlight this sad situation. Although the topic is serious, we wanted to have a little fun with it in order to highlight the number of perfectly good items that were being thrown into the dump every week. Thus was born "Adventures with Fitzgerald the Dump Truck". The episodes can be seen on the Rustic Lodge Lifestyle home page.

What can you do?

Are you concerned about rampant consumerism and the corresponding waste? If so consider taking some of the following steps:

Turn off

Break free of the insidious power of commercials by limiting your exposure to them... and if you have children, this is even more important. Setting the right example becomes paramount in teaching the next generation that it is not necessary to have the newest, most recent model of everything!

Teach them that happiness does not come from a store! We don't expose ourselves to the constant barrage of commercial messages. We rarely watch TV, we listen to public radio, and have very few subscriptions to magazines that come to the house.

Consequently we are blissfully unaware of so much of the product marketing and thus are not even tempted to rush out to buy this or that "must have" gizmo. We don't have a TV at our country lodge, so when the grandchildren visit, they are not even tempted to watch... it just isn't part of the "lodge experience".

Take a long hard look

What are you throwing away? Get in the habit of looking critically at all of your household waste. Is it really garbage? Can it be put to use by someone else? Can you compost your wet garbage? Are you recycling everything that you can? We have two or three charities that call us regularly to ask if we have any donations they can pick up. Some of them let us know we can call them any time for an additional pickup of clothing and household items. Check for charities that offer this service in your area.

Taking this simple step would see items such as stuffed toys (we've seen full boxes of perfectly good ones at the dump - some brand new with the tags still on),  other toys, bikes, folding chairs, lamps, tables, furniture, and much more, put to good use.

Episode one of the "Fitzgerald" series highlights many of the items that we rescued from the dump. Other episodes show many perfectly good items that had been thrown away, but which we personally didn't take.

Challenge each other

Families can get together and set up challenges to minimize waste. At the office, organize a waste awareness day. Get your boss involved... or if you are the boss, you set the tone. Even neighborhoods can activate to increase awareness.

These are just a few suggestions to start the creative juices flowing. Each one of us must start taking individual responsibility to reduce the resource footprint on our fragile planet. Reducing our personal waste by limiting unnecessary consumerism, and through reuse and recycling are important actions we must all take.
